The Brazilian goalkeeper took to social media to clarify reports about his latest injury and provided an injury return timeline
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has taken to social media to directly address rumours about his injury and his expected return date.
The Reds are preparing to face Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday, and head coach Arne Slot had stated on Thursday that his no.1 would not be available until the latter stages of the season.
“He will not be part of the Paris Saint-Germain games as well. He will be out for a bit longer. Towards the end of the season we expect him to be fit again,” Arne Slot said at his pre-match press conference.
Slot lamented his side’s bad luck in the recent defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion where Hugo Ekitike suffered an injury to add to the losses of Alisson and Mohamed Salah.
“After a great game midweek against Galatasaray, we immediately hit the setback the day after with Ali [Alisson Becker] and Mo being out,” he said.
“And then three minutes into the game, Hugo Ekitike went out and I think we could also see that in the second half, one or two players struggled with the fact that we played during midweek and those were the players that were not used to it yet because of injuries throughout the whole season.

“But now, Mo is back. Ali unfortunately isn’t, but I think much more of our players are used to the programme now than they were in the beginning of the season. So now it’s up to us to show that we are ready for this tough fixture list.”
Alisson clarifies injury rumours
These comments prompted claims in various media reports that Alisson had suffered from a new injury, one that would put the remainder of his campaign in doubt.
However, on Friday, Alisson took to social media himself to clarify external claims that he had suffered a fresh injury setback.
“I didn’t suffer a new injury. I’m in the treatment phase, and the plan is to be in full playing condition by the end of April,” he wrote on X.
Alisson’s comments come as welcome news for Liverpool fans, as it provides optimism that one of their most important players should return for a crucial season run-in.
While it’s been an underwhelming season for the reigning Premier League champions, Liverpool are still in the FA Cup, are chasing a Champions League spot and are still in this season’s competition in which they have a reputation for defying the odds.
