Álvaro Arbeloa insists Real Madrid are managing injuries carefully as Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham stay in close contact with the club.

Álvaro Arbeloa has sought to calm concerns surrounding Real Madrid’s injury situation, insisting the club remain closely involved in the recovery of both Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham.

The Spanish coach addressed the topic during a recent press conference after questions were raised about the two stars receiving medical consultations outside Spain. Mbappé has been undergoing treatment in Paris, while Bellingham has travelled to London as he continues his recovery from injury.

Arbeloa dismissed suggestions that these trips reflected a lack of confidence in Madrid’s medical department. Instead, he explained that the process is coordinated and fully supervised by the club.

They are monitored by Real Madrid at all times,” Arbeloa said, stressing that the club’s medical team remain involved even when players consult specialists abroad.

He also underlined that the players themselves maintain regular communication with the club as they work towards returning to action.

“Mbappé and Bellingham are in constant contact with us,” Arbeloa added, making clear that their rehabilitation programmes are being managed collaboratively.

Arbeloa insists Real Madrid cannot make excuses

Real Madrid have been dealing with several injury setbacks in recent weeks, with multiple key players unavailable for important fixtures. And to make matters worse, their recent shock 0-1 defeat at home to Getafe has seen them fall four points behind rivals FC Barcelona at the top of the table.

Despite that, Arbeloa insisted the situation cannot be used as an excuse for performances on the pitch.

“This is Real Madrid – we don’t look for excuses,” he said, emphasising the expectation that the squad must still deliver results regardless of absences.

Mbappé is currently recovering from a knee issue that has ruled him out of recent matches, while Bellingham is also sidelined and not expected to return immediately.

Even so, Arbeloa remains confident that both players are progressing positively and will return when fully ready.

For now, Real Madrid must navigate a demanding run of fixtures without two of their biggest stars, while the club’s medical team continues to oversee their rehabilitation behind the scenes.
