Preview, team news, head‑to‑head, probable line‑ups, tactical analysis and where to watch Arsenal v Bournemouth in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Premier League leaders Arsenal welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as they seek to maintain their lead at the top of the table in a clash that is sandwiched between their Champions League quarter-final dates with Sporting CP. The game in London will kick off at 12:30 local time / 13:30 CET / 07:30 ET / 04:30 PT.

Despite losing their last two domestic games – both in cup competitions – Arsenal are the Premier League’s form side and are unbeaten in the league since January.

Mikel Arteta’s team will be looking to keep that formidable run going in the knowledge that a win would put them, briefly at least, 12 points ahead of Manchester City, albeit with the Cityzens having played two games less.

For their part, Bournemouth currently lie in 13th but are only six points below Chelsea in 6th. Andoni Iraola’s side are on an even longer unbeaten run than Arsenal, with the Gunners being the last team to beat them in 90 minutes, back on January 3.

Team news & injury updates

Arsenal

Arteta has a number of doubts ahead of this clash against his Basque compatriot Iraola. Leandro Trossard returned in the victory of Sporting on Tuesday, but suffered another setback and is a question mark for the weekend. Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber are also doubts, while Piero Hincapié and Mikel Merino are definitely out. Eberechi Eze, however, has returned to Arsenal training after recovering from a calf injury.

Bournemouth

For the visitors, Eli Junior Kroupi is expected to return after picking up an injury on international duty, although Tyler Adams and Lewis Cook remain doubts. Meanwhile, the game will come too early for Justin Kluivert, who is approaching a return, and Julio Soler is likely to be out for the remainder of the season.

Tactical analysis: How the game will be won

Expect a tight game

In a game between two sides who haven’t lost in the Premier League since January, we can expect a tight affair in this one which may come down to fine margins. Arteta’s side have been scraping out results as they keep their eyes firmly on the title and have earned a reputation as set-piece specialists, so that could be the key to their chances of unlocking a stubborn Bournemouth backline.

Bournemouth have three goalless draws in their last five games and that defensive solidity has helped them to a steady midtable position. Iraola also knows how to counter-attack efficiently, though, and his side have a knack for causing surprises and scoring against quality opposition, as the 2-2 draw with Manchester United exemplifies.
