Fulham ready to reignite interest in Ricardo Pepi after January setback as PSV striker returns from injury in strong form
Fulham are preparing to revive their pursuit of United States international Ricardo Pepi when the summer transfer window opens, having seen a January move collapse under difficult circumstances.
The Premier League side were determined to land the PSV Eindhoven striker earlier this year and even tabled a second offer worth around €32 million. However, negotiations stalled amid a valuation gap between the two clubs, with PSV reluctant to part ways with one of their most productive forwards mid-season.
Complicating matters further, Pepi suffered a fractured forearm during PSV’s victory over Excelsior Rotterdam in January, requiring surgery and effectively ending any chance of a winter switch to Craven Cottage.
Despite that setback, the 23-year-old has made an impressive recovery and recently marked his return with a superb long-range goal against Heerenveen, a timely reminder of the qualities that made him such a coveted target.
