Inter host Arsenal in a pivotal Champions League league stage clash on Tuesday at the iconic San Siro. Kick-off is scheduled for 9:00 pm CET (8:00 pm GMT / 3:00 pm ET / 12:00 pm PT) as both sides aim to strengthen their continental credentials.

Arsenal enter the match with a perfect record in Europe so far this season – with six wins out of six – and could secure qualification to the last 16 with a point, while Inter sit sixth in the standings, six points behind the Gunners.

How the teams go into the game: form

Inter are heading into Tuesday’s clash on the back of five wins in their last six Serie A games that have allowed the Nerazzurri to remain top of the table, three points above second-placed AC Milan and six ahead of third-placed Napoli.

Having won four of their six Champions League games this season, Inter boast the second-best defence in the competition with just four goals conceded so far.

No team have conceded fewer goals than Arsenal (one), who have kept five clean sheets in six matches. The visitors, who have lost just one of their last 30 games across all competitions, sit top of the Premier League table despite two straight draws at home against Liverpool in early January and away at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Inter vs Arsenal: Head-to-head

The pair’s recent head-to-head history in the Champions League suggests an edge for the hosts. Across three prior competitive meetings, Inter have won twice and Arsenal once, with no draws between the clubs.

Their most recent competitive meeting came in the 2024/25 Champions League group stage, when Inter secured a narrow 1-0 home victory thanks to a Hakan Çalhanoğlu penalty.

Inter vs Arsenal: Team news

Christian Chivu will be without several key players for the visit of Arsenal. Çalhanoğlu is sidelined with a calf injury, while Denzel Dumfries is also expected to miss out due to an ankle problem.

Goalkeeping options are limited too, with Raffaele Di Gennaro unavailable because of a hand injury and Tomás Palacios ruled out with a thigh issue. There is some hope that Josep Martínez could be fit enough to take a place on the bench as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Mikel Arteta also arrives with fitness concerns of his own. Max Dowman remains sidelined with an ankle problem, while Piero Hincapié is out with a thigh injury and Riccardo Calafiori continues to recover from a muscle issue. None of the three is expected to return in time for this fixture.

Meanwhile, Arsenal received an injury boost last weekend as Cristhian Mosquera made the matchday squad against Forest.
