Leeds manager Daniel Farke gives injury update on several players ahead of Friday’s Premier League clash with Burnley
Leeds welcome Burnley to Elland Road on Friday night knowing that they have a big chance to take a step towards Premier League survival.
Visitors Burnley are already relegated, along with Wolves, while Leeds are currently six points above Spurs who currently occupy the third relegation spot. In between them lie Nottingham Forest and West Ham United.
On paper, Leeds have the easiest game of that quartet this weekend, with the others all facing tricky away fixtures. West Ham will cross London to face a Brentford side chasing European football; Tottenham travel to face an Aston Villa close to securing a return to the Champions League; and Forest face a trip to Stamford Bridge where Chelsea still have European ambitions as well.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke, then, will know the importance of this weekend and hope to take this chance to ease his side away from the relegation battle. To that end, he could certainly use a full squad at his disposition.
Friday too soon for Gudmundsson
One player who won’t be available for the visit of Burnley is Gabriel Gudmundsson, but Farke hopes to have him back soon.
“Hamstring injury, it’s a bit of a serious injury,” said Farke in the build-up to the game.
“He’ll definitely miss Friday and probably the Tottenham game, then we’ll have to see.
“We try to bring him back as quick as possible, I hope he can feature in one of the final two games.”

Farke hopeful on Okafor, Stach and Bijol
There is better news, however, regarding Noah Okafor, Jaka Bijol and Anton Stach as Farke indicated they are likely to be available for Friday.
“Also one or two question marks. Noah Okafor got a hit on his calf, there’s a question mark on his availability,” said Farke.
“Jaka Bijol is dealing with some hip flexor problems. I hope to have them both available.”
Like Bijol, Stach also played 45 minutes against Chelsea and Farke is pleased with the progress he is making.
“We have two more days, beneficial for him to have 45 minutes in the tank,” said Farke.
“A good and solid performance which is important for confidence.
“Always a bit tricky after such an injury, not ideal for such players to be out but it’s good to have both back.”
