Liverpool travel to Wolves on Tuesday with Arne Slot facing a number of injury concerns
Liverpool travel to face Wolves on Tuesday, March 3, who are fresh off their first Premier League win since early January. They will do so boosted by the return of right back Jeremie Frimpong, but Arne Slot has urged caution over his availability.
Since losing to Manchester City, where Frimpong began his career, incidentally, Liverpool have gone on to win four in a row and maintaining that momentum against bottom-of-the-table Wolves will be key to their push for a top-four finish.
Slot must manage Frimpong’s minutes
Frimpong came off the bench on Saturday against West Ham and could be in line to return to the starting XI on Tuesday at Molineux. Slot has indicated, however, that he will need to be eased back into action.
“Right-back isn’t the only position where we have struggled but it stands out most. Having Jeremie back is nice,” said Slot at his press conference on Monday.
“We have to take into account a lot of games especially players who come back from injuries. But we know the importance of every game now. But I’m not the only one to have that.

“I prefer to manage how many minutes he can be given rather than see him with the medical team.”
Liverpool still waiting on Wirtz
Meanwhile, Liverpool fans will have to wait a little longer to see creative attacker Florian Wirtz back in the team. The German international has missed the last two games with a back problem and will be out again for the trip to Wolves.
“Not anything different to what I said after the [West Ham] game,” said Slot.
“The game probably comes too soon tomorrow and maybe the game at the weekend.
“We hope to have him back next week.”
Elsewhere, Liverpool remain without longer term injured players Alexander Isak, Wataru Endo, Stefan Bajcetic, Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley.
