A fixture that rarely lacks goals
Despite the current struggles on both sides, history suggests this matchup usually delivers action. Tottenham vs Newcastle is the most-played Premier League fixture never to finish goalless, having been contested 61 times without a 0-0 draw.
It also ranks as the fourth highest-scoring fixture in Premier League history, with 196 total goals – behind only Liverpool vs Spurs, Arsenal vs Liverpool and Liverpool vs Newcastle.
Dominic Solanke could again be central to that trend. The striker has scored 13 goals in his last 19 home league starts and has found the net in each of his last three Premier League appearances against Newcastle.

Newcastle’s away woes and recent dominance
Newcastle’s problems have been particularly evident on the road. The Magpies have won just two of their last 15 away league matches, drawing five and losing eight.
They have also struggled in the capital, losing their last three Premier League games in London – something they last did across four consecutive visits back in 2019.
Still, recent head-to-head history favours Newcastle. Tottenham have lost five of their last seven league meetings with the Magpies, and are winless in their last four clashes overall, including a 2-2 draw at St James’ Park in December.
