Eden Hazard says his children are fans of Kenan Yıldız and sees the Juventus winger as suited to Real Madrid rather than the Premier League

Eden Hazard has shared his take on Juventus winger Kenan Yıldız, describing the highly-rated young Turkish attacker as a player who could suit Real Madrid’s style of football rather than that of Chelsea, both former clubs of his.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid star spoke about Yıldız in an interview while in Italy, where he has been involved in promotional activities and events.

Hazard, who remains a prominent voice in football circles despite his retirement, was asked which Serie A player he would like to see in the Premier League for Chelsea.

Hazard made it clear that while his children enjoy watching the 20‑year‑old, he believes Yıldız’s qualities may align more with continental football – particularly in a setup like Real Madrid’s – than the physicality and intensity of English football.

Hazard on Yıldız and football aspirations

“My children are crazy about Yildiz. They watch lots of his videos and hope to see him in the Premier League,” Hazard said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“As for me, he seems more like a Real Madrid‑type player.”

Hazard suggested the Turkish international’s skillset might be better suited to the tactical and technical demands of Spanish football rather than the more physically robust Premier League.

Hazard’s comments come amid growing recognition of Yıldız’s potential at the highest level. The 20‑year‑old has featured regularly for Juventus in Serie A and European competition, catching the attention of scouts and pundits alike for his pace, dribbling and end‑product in the final third.

What Yıldız offers

Kenan Yıldız, born in January 2006, has emerged as one of Turkey’s most promising attacking talents, able to play on either flank or centrally behind the striker.

His performances in Italy this season have underlined his versatility, flair on the ball and eagerness to take on defenders, traits that have fuelled speculation about his future and the potential interest from elite clubs.

Juventus continue to integrate Yıldız as a key part of their first-team plans, and his development this season has been closely monitored by clubs across Europe.

While Hazard’s remarks cannot be viewed as transfer speculation as such, they do signal how a respected former elite player views Yıldız’s attributes and potential fit within different leagues and tactical environments.

Hazard knows what he’s talking about

Hazard’s own career path – excelling in the Premier League with Chelsea before a high‑profile move to Real Madrid later in his career – adds weight to his observations.

Having experienced both the English and Spanish top flights firsthand, his assessment of where a player like Yıldız might thrive carries insight from a seasoned professional.

While the Premier League remains one of the most competitive and physically demanding leagues, Real Madrid continue to prioritise technical ability and young individual talent in their recruitment philosophy.

Yıldız’s creativity and adaptability could align with that approach, making him a player to watch as transfer speculation builds around Europe’s emerging talents.

Yildiz has been in fine form for the Old Lady this season, with nine goals and eight assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. At just 20-years-old, he already has 26 caps for Turkey.
