The prodigious winger has already won a league title before turning 18, but his camp insists leaving Porto this summer would be “complete madness”
Oskar Pietuszewski has quickly emerged as one of Europe’s top prospects since joining FC Porto in January, with the 17-year-old making an immediate impact that has helped the Dragões to win the Portuguese title with some blistering glimpses of his talent.
The performances of the Polish teenager have already caught the attention of some of the continent’s elite sides and, at his current rate of development, is unlikely to remain at Porto for too long. However, his agent insists that staying in Portugal would be the most sensible decision for now.
“I think he’ll stay at Porto for another season,” Piekarski said in an interview with the YouTube channel Foot Truck.
“The interest remains huge, but we have no plans to change clubs. That would be complete madness. Oskar feels very much at home at FC Porto.
“He’s happy and gaining experience. Perhaps in a year’s time, after another season in the Portuguese league and having played in the UEFA Champions League, there will be a reassessment and he can think about what to do next.
“Even so, it’s not set in stone that he has to leave in a year’s time. Perhaps in two years’ time.”

From title celebrations to school exams in less than 24 hours
The speed at which Pietuszewski’s life is changing was perhaps best illustrated by what happened immediately after Porto secured the Primeira Liga title.
Most teenage footballers would probably spend days celebrating. Pietuszewski instead had to think about school exams and not ordinary scheduling either.
In his remarks, Piekarski went on to reveal the extraordinary logistical operation organised to ensure that the teenager could both celebrate with his teammates in Portugal and sit his final secondary school exams back in Poland the following morning.
“There were concerns about school, the final exam and how Oskar would juggle all that with Porto, but everything fell into place perfectly,” his agent added.
“They were playing at 21.30 on Sunday and the final exam was in the morning. I booked a private jet to Modlin Airport and a driver was waiting there so he could have a quick shower and go straight to the exam.”
The club have built a reputation for developing elite young talent before selling players for massive profits later in their careers. Names such as Vitinha, Fábio Vieira and Luis Díaz all followed similar pathways through Portugal before moving to Europe’s top leagues.
Pietuszewski may eventually do the same in the future, but for the time being he is expected to stay at Porto.
