The Brazilian international spoke about a possible new deal and claims that his relationship with president Florentino Pérez remains strong
Vinícius Júnior has attempted to calm growing speculation surrounding his future by insisting he remains completely happy at Real Madrid, even if contract renewal talks are not currently being rushed.
The Brazilian forward spoke openly about his situation, making clear that both he and the club remain relaxed despite his current deal running until 2027.
“I’m in no rush to renew my contract,” Vinícius said during an interview with CazeTV.
“It runs until 2027. So until 2027, we have a lot to discuss with Madrid, and Madrid has a lot to discuss with us.”
The comments arrive amid increasing attention surrounding Real Madrid’s long-term squad planning after a second successive trophyless season and a dressing room clash between Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Even so, Vinícius made clear he still sees Madrid as the place where he wants to spend the rest of his career.
“I’ve never imagined myself outside of Real Madrid,” he explained.
“I really enjoy every moment I spend here, because it’s the club of my dreams. I always dreamed of playing here and being able to do so for so long.
“Now I’m one of the team’s captains. Despite being so young, it’s something important that rarely happens in history.
“So I enjoy every moment. I want to stay here my whole life, but I’m not in a hurry to renew my contract either.”
Relationship with president Pérez
There appears to be little tension between player and club, but Vinícius stressed that his relationship with president Florentino Pérez remains strong and based on mutual trust.
“Madrid is calm, I’m calm. The president trusts me, and I trust him,” he said.
“And that’s it – we just have to wait and live each day, each moment, and enjoy the best club in the world.”
One of the more revealing sections of the interview involved Vinícius discussing his connection with Kylian Mbappé, a relationship that has been heavily scrutinised since the French forward’s arrival in Madrid.
Questions have repeatedly emerged over whether two attacking superstars accustomed to leading teams individually could truly coexist, but Vinícius dismissed any suggestion of tension.
“Whenever we can, we’re together – even off the field, hanging out with friends,” he said.
“I’ve always had a good relationship with him. I used to send him lots of messages asking him to come play with us.
“Mbappé is a good person; he always stands up for me in interviews, including during the match against Benfica regarding the racism incident. He’s a legendary player who’s going to leave his mark on Madrid.”
