Nottingham Forest have begun talks with Neco Williams over a contract extension on improved terms

Wales international full back Neco Williams is having a standout season for Nottingham Forest and the English club are keen for him to commit his future on a new and improved deal.

Williams’ current deal, signed last summer, runs until 2029, but Forest have already opened talks about a contract extension with improved terms for the 25-year-old defender who has captained the side on several occasions this campaign.

The full-back has been catching the attention of several Premier League rivals but Forest are hoping to hold onto him for a while longer. Williams has been at the club for four years after joining from Liverpool for £12 million.

Interest from Premier League rivals

Williams’ form has understandably caught the eye of several opposition teams this season, with Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester United and Everton all reportedly keeping tabs on him.

Williams has made 51 appearances for Forest this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists. He also played a key role in Forest’s European run, which saw them reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.
